Dr. Balkisu Saidu

Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto State

Dr Balkisu Saidu is a Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Law and Jurisprudence, Faculty of Law, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and an Associate in the Law Firm of Umaru Shinkafi & Co.

Dr Saidu obtains her PHD/SJD in Energy Law and Policy from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan; LLM in Petroleum Law and Policy from University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom (UK); and BL from Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja, Nigeria. She holds Certificates in Modern Practice in Petroleum Licensing and in International Mining from University of Dundee, Dundee, Scotland, UK; Certificate in Leadership Skills from Lagos Business School, Nigeria; and Fukuzawa Bunmei Juku Certificate in Leadership from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan.

She is a member of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); International Bar Association (IBA) and Chevening Alumni Association of Nigeria (CAAN). She is a Chevening and Monbukagakusho Scholar, and a Consultant for the British Council.
