Dr Dayo Ayoade qualified as a lawyer in 1991 and has a professional career that covers Nigeria and the United Kingdom. His experience is multi- disciplinary and spans the legal, regulatory, commercial and contractual arena.
Dr Ayoade is currently a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos and also an international legal consultant. His expertise covers the fields of oil and gas, mining, electricity, arbitration and international trade, where he lectures at undergraduate and post- graduate level, consults, and advises clients utilising his deep transnational exposure.
Dayo Ayoade was educated at the Edinburgh Academy (Scotland, UK) and obtained his LL.B (hons) degree from the University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK). He also holds an LL.M (Maritime), University of Wales, Cardiff; LL.M (Resources) specialising in oil and gas; and PhD (Energy law and econs.) from the famous Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee. Dr Ayoade has attended and facilitated a number of training courses in Nigeria and abroad. In addition, he is widely published and a global expert on offshore decommissioning regulation. He is the author of Disused Offshore Installations and Pipelines: Towards “Sustainable Decommissioning” (published by Kluwer law, London: March 2002). Dayo Ayoade is a member of many organisations including the Nigerian Bar Association, Nigerian Society of International Law, and the Nigerian Institute for International Affairs.
