CPEEL Presents on Extrative Industries at a Validation Workshop Organized by UNDP

The Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law (CPEEL) presented its report on a study to ‘Develop a Framework for Harnessing Extractive Industries for Inclusive Growth and Human Development in Nigeria’ in a Validation Workshop organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on Thursday 11th September 2014 at Reiz Continental Hotel, Central Area District, Abuja. The study which received support from the UNDP has important policy implications and is aimed at ensuring efficient development and exploitation of Nigeria’s extractive industries for the long term benefit of human development in Nigeria.

In attendance at the workshop were participants from the government, the private sector, international development partners, the academia as well as associations and stakeholders in the extractive industries sector in Nigeria. Professor Adeola Adenikinju, Director CPEEL; Professor Akin Iwayemi, Principal Investigator, CPEEL; and Dr. Adeboye Adeyemo, Fellow CPEEL, represented the Centre at the workshop.
