Course Summary
The course introduces students to the importance of the environment and the framework of law on the environment generally and particularly as it relates to the energy sector. It has the objective of enhancing basic understanding of notions, concepts, nature and applications of law in the protection of the environment to ensure rapid but sustainable development. Specific topics include: Issues and Concepts on Environment; Sources of Environmental Law; Principles of Environmental Law; International Instruments for the Protection of the Environment; Contemporary and Topical Issues in Law and Environment.
