Course Summary

The objective of the course is to facilitate a thorough understanding of all the necessary concepts of capital investment evaluation, capital budgeting, and investment decision criteria available and their applications in the oil and gas industry. The course describes the philosophy, process, and methods underlying upstream capital investment evaluation and rational economic decisions under different stages of risk and uncertainty. Specific topics include: Petroleum E&P Economics & Analysis: Fundamentals; Capital Budgeting Techniques & Incremental Economics; International Petroleum Economics; Fiscal System Mechanics and Analysis; and Risk and Uncertainty Management in Petroleum E&P Industry.
