The Petroleum Industry Act of 2021: Navigating the New Oil and Gas Order in Nigeria

The Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021 has attracted diverse opinions from stakeholders on its potential to be much anticipated game changer in the petroleum industry in Nigeria. Specifically in Nigeria and generally in Sub Sharan African, this roundtable discussion would explore objective and subjective factors that will be unfolding during the implementation phase of this act. The evaluation of the statutory obligations and responsibility of stakeholders would also be bolstered by this discourse. Expectations, possible controversies, gaps and gains in the short to long term are some of other issues that would be emanating from the roundtable discussion.
