  1. Professor Adeola Adenikinju

The CGE team will be led by Professor Adeola Adenikinju, an expert in CGE. Adeola has consulted for such organizations as the European Union, United Nations, the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company, NLNG, The African Economic Research Consortium, OECD, UNIDO, ECOWAS, UNECA, the World Bank, and the National Data Bank, among others. He was one of the Consultants that prepared the First Perspective Plan for Nigeria. He is also involved in the United Nations Project Link that makes economic projection for the Nigerian Economy using CGE. His research interests include Petroleum and Energy Economics, Macroeconomic modeling, and Economic Development Issues. He has published articles extensively in reputable Local and International Journals, and has authored a book on CGE modelling. He is currently a member the Monetary policy committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Adeola served as a Special Assistant to the Presidential Adviser on Energy Matters, betwnreen 2005 and 2007, and Senior Special Assistant to the President, Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the President between 2010 and 2011. He is the Director, Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law (CPEEL), a MacArthur Foundation Regional Centre of Excellence at the University of Ibadan that provides training, research and consultancy on all aspects of energy. He is one of the resource persons of PEP and facilitated training and workshops on CGE both locally and abroad.

  1. Abiola Akande

Akande, is a doctoral research student at Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law (CPEEL), a MacArthur Foundation Regional Centre of Excellence at the University of Ibadan. He specialized in Energy Economics especially in electricity and natural gas economics and adopted Computable General Equilibrium for his PhD thesis. Abiola received MacArthur foundation scholarship while on his PhD and has used CGE to capture the impact of carbon tax on the Nigeria economy. Abiola has facilitated a PEP CGE training of Macroeconomic Policies and Shock at CPEEL, University of Ibadan and the Macroeconomic Modeling for Development Planners in Kigali, Rwanda. Also, he attended the just concluded 26th Annual Short course of GTAP held at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indianapolis, USA. Presently, he is a lecturer and researcher at the Bowen University, Iwo. Abiola is both a CPEEL and GTAP CGE trainer.


  1. Dr. Olaoluwa S. Yaya (PhD)

The R – Software team will be led by Dr. Olaoluwa S. Yaya, a Lecturer the Department of Statistics, University of Ibadan. He bagged B.Sc. degree in Mathematical Sciences from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Abeokuta, Nigeria, in 2001, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics, both from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, in 2006 and 2013, respectively. He specializes in Financial Time Series, Time Series Econometrics and Computational Statistics. His current research interests include Fractional integrated processes, Structural breaks, Seasonality, Nonlinearities in the context of I(d) models and Volatility modelling. Dr. Yaya is a Fellow/Member of American Statistical Associations (ASA), Royal Statistical Society (RSS) London, International Statistical Institute (ISI), International Associations of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) and Nigerian Statistical Association. He is a consultant Statistician to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Research (LISA) at the University of Ibadan.

  1. Olalekan Joseph Akintande

Olalekan is a Tutorial Assistant in Department of Statistics, University of Ibadan. He simultaneously works as a Research Assistant & Senior Collaborator at Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis (UI-LISA), Department of Statistics, University of Ibadan and also a Volunteer - Data Management Specialist at Centre for Petroleum Energy Economic and Law (CPEEL). He holds a professional qualification of Graduate Statistician (GradStat) of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS).

Olalekan’s PhD concentration is in Econometrics of Data Mining, Machine Learning and application. Olalekan can code with R & Python programming languages and has publications in International Journals with topics in statistical theory, methodology and application.


  1. Dr. Seun Amoda

This workshop will be led by Dr. Seun Amoda, he is an Independent Consultant in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI). Notably, he is currently supporting the “Off-Grid Electrification Strategies” of the Rural Electrification Agency as a Financial, Commercial and Regulatory Consultant. He was engaged in transformer-assets optimization for a utility in his doctoral work. In particular he investigated methods and developed solutions to enable utilities to optimally load their transformers without encroaching on the transformers life span. He was a consultant with Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility 2 (NIAF) programme of Department for International Development (DFID) of the United Kingdom. NIAF2 provided support to the Nigeria Government in areas such as Power Sector, Roads and Rails. He was a Market Analyst/Engineer at Monitoring Analytics, LLC Eagleville USA (2010 – 2012). Monitoring Analytics is the Independent Market Monitor of PJM. At Monitoring Analytics he developed and supported analyses of PJM markets in order to identify the potential for market power, he analyzed complex data on asset ownership and market actions to determine patterns of behavior in the PJM energy, capacity, transmission, ancillary services and bilateral markets.

Oluwaseun Amoda obtained his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from Arizona State University, USA.

  1. Mr. Femi Omisanjo

Femi holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and an MSc in Energy Economics and Finance from the University of Ibadan. Femi is an energy analyst and economist with experience of the Nigerian Power Industry.

He has worked as a graduate Market and Rate Intern at the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and currently works as an associate consultant for some energy consulting firms in Nigeria. He currently works at the Energizing Economies Initiative of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and has carried out various assignments for the Ministry of Power, NERC and some generation and distribution companies.
