The Department of Minerals, Petroleum, Energy Economics, and Law (DMPEEL) in
collaboration with the Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics, and Law (CPEEL), Faculty
of Multidisciplinary Studies, University of Ibadan, invites applications from qualified and
motivated individuals for the position of Associate Program Officer.

About DMPEEL and CPEEL
DMPEEL and CPEEL are research-driven institutions committed to advancing knowledge in
energy studies and energy law. Our work focuses on interdisciplinary research that informs and
supports evidence-based policies and practices at local, national, and international levels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Web Management: Oversee and manage the department website and digital presence,
ensuring content is up to date, user-friendly, and aligned with ongoing projects and
research initiatives.
- Regularly update content, events, research outputs, and resources.
- Coordinate the development of digital marketing materials, including newsletters
and announcements.
- Optimize website usability, ensuring it is accessible to various stakeholders.
2. Results Management: Assist in tracking, analyzing, and preparing reports on the results
of ongoing research and projects.
- Monitor progress and key performance indicators (KPIs) for research initiatives.
- Collaborate with researchers and project teams to compile and interpret data and
outcomes for internal and external reporting.
- Prepare results summaries, impact assessments, and success stories for
dissemination to stakeholders.
3. Program Coordination: Support the planning, implementation, and coordination of
various projects and programs, ensuring they are effectively aligned with strategic goals.
- Facilitate communications between program teams, stakeholders, and partners.
- Assist in organizing workshops, seminars, and other related events.
4. Stakeholder Communication: Assist in managing communication channels with
internal and external stakeholders, ensuring regular updates on project outcomes and
activities.
- Respond to queries, provide updates, and ensure the dissemination of project
results.
5. Administrative Support: Provide logistical and administrative support for the
department’s programs, including maintaining schedules, coordinating meetings, and
assisting with event organization.
Qualifications and Requirements
1. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics,
Information Science, or a related field.
2. Experience in ICT and web management, digital tools, and platforms.
3. Strong understanding of results-based management (RBM) frameworks and reporting
methods.
4 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web management tools (e.g., CMS, Google
Analytics, SEO tools).
5 Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is an advantage.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
9. Prior experience in research, energy law, or energy studies is an added advantage.
