In lieu of recent events in the oil and gas sector, the Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law (CPEEL) in conjunction with GREENMAC ENERGY LIMITED seeks to address these issues as well as proffer creative solutions.
In recent times, the sector has witnessed a downturn of events in its downstream sector which has led to low employment rate, monetary losses caused by price distortion and moral hazards inherent in the price making regulation. An economic revival is therefore vital for a positive turn around in this sector.
Awareness, they say is the greatest agent for change. Both parties therefore seek to take the first step towards change by creating awareness through carefully organized workshops aimed at drawing attention to unintended fallouts in this sector. These workshops are targeted at a wide audience including major marketers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), affected communities, banks and practitioners in the industry.
A meeting hosted by GREENMAC ENERGY LIMITED, LAGOS and headed by the chairman of the company Dr. Ike Williams on Thursday, 1st August, 2019 was a major stride taken towards actualization of the project. Representatives from CPEEL were also present and important factors required for the success of the project were discussed. It is expected that by the time the project is realized, the goal of a massive turn around in the sector which would be beneficial to both the common man and the practitioners would be realized.
