The Centre's Director, Prof. Adeola Adenikinju was invited to present at the Dual Plenary Session on Energy Access of the International Association of Energy Economics (IAEE) 2015 Conference in Antalya, Turkey. He was ably represented by the Prof. Akin Iwayemi, the Principal Investigator of the Centre, who delivered the presentation on the Director’s behalf on May 27, 2015. The session examined the core issues in energy access or lack of it and focused on advancing knowledge, understanding, and application of economics across all aspects of energy policy issues and challenges underlying energy access and energy poverty across the globe, especially in the least developing economies. The Director’s presentation explored energy access issues in Africa, and highlighted the fact that sub-Saharan Africa has huge energy potentials but currently lacks adequate access to energy.
