The Report, prepared for the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the President (OCEAP), reviews the institutional and legal characteristics and actual decisions or actions of selected regulatory agencies and how they have affected sector outcomes. Its main objective was to provide a detailed analysis of the existing regulatory framework and environment in Nigeria. The Report features the energy and technology sectors of the Nigerian economy. A comprehensive review and assessment of the current regulatory agencies in these sectors; their overall conditions, patterns and characteristics of their operations; the socio-economic impacts of their activities are captured in the Report. It benchmarks the regulatory practices with international best practices. It concludes with relevant recommendations for the future strategic directions and actions to achieve a more efficient and sustainable regulatory environment in Nigeria towards 2020 and beyond.
