Under took the pricing of natural gas supplied by Shell to Electricity Corporation of Nigeria in 1973
Completed a study on the Non-Energy uses of hydrocarbons for OPEC-Secretariat in 1973
Supervised Battelle Research and Queen’s College, University of London Research Team in building a World Energy Model for OPEC’s long-term strategies.
Served as Nigerian’s National Representatives at OPEC Economic Commission Board from 1977 to 1988
Responsible for Oil and Energy market analysis, to determine the Arab light crude reference price and price differentials of the other OPEC crude’s using Replacement Value Method and Net Bank Analysis.
As General Manager for NNPC Corporate Planning Division, responsibilities included policy guidelines long-term strategic direction, Budgeting and Pricing of Nigeria crude oils, natural gas and petroleum products.
As Group Deputy Managing Director for NNPC, in charge of Corporate Services, responsibilities included preparation of board policy directives for the various Divisions under my Directorate. This covered: Administration, Finance Engineering and Research and Development.
As Director of Research Division of OPEC, I was in charge of defining and conducting studies on the place of oil in the World energy scene, advising OPEC oil Ministers on appropriate policies on level of oil and gas production, quotas and oil pricing.
As Group Executive Director of National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) responsibilities included overseeing and supervising Nigeria’s Federation Account investment in the Joint Venture partnership of the Upstream Sector. Experience covered the planning and execution of major projects being undertaken by the various Joint Venture operators such as Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Elf and Agip e.t.c. The OSO 1&2 projects undertaken by Mobil, the Escravos Gas project covering phases 1&2 were under my direct supervision.
As Executive Chairman of Mak Mera Nigeria Limited, Responsibilities included building up a consulting outfit from 1995 up till date. Since inception Mar Mera Nigeria Limited has carried out over 20 Environmental studies for Shell, Chevron, Texaco, Elf and Agip.
The following Training Workshops had been conducted for Shell:
Contract Administration and Procedure Training: The course covers Contract plan, Pre-qualification, Tendering process, Technical and Commercial Bid Evaluation, Tender Boards and Post Contract Award and Close-Out procedures. More than 1000 staff of SPDC have exposed to this course.
A one day workshop on how to do business with SPDC for indigenous contractors of SPDC. More than 1200 indigenous contractors of SPDC have been trained.
Enhanced Contract Management course (ECM1 & ECM2). This course is designed for both Contract Holders and Company Site Representatives. More than 2400 staff of Shell have been trained.
